Lijiang Horseback Riding

Well partners, here we are at a ranch outside of Lijiang.  The Chinese name for it is "The horse riding place".  Clear enough.  I look like a natural, don't I.
Now Emily mounts up.  That's horse rider talk, don't ya see.  This was Emily's Christmas present from her Grammie Barb.  She was really looking forward to this.
Now that's a hat!
Off we head, up into the mountains.  We passed through a village to get to the mountains.  I brought up rear.
There's Kelly up there, riding her dog, er.. horse.  These are small Mongolian horses and we all think Kelly's long legs make her look like she is riding a dog.
She's an old cow hand... from the Rio Grand....
That's Lasa lake in the background.
This is one of our guides.  There were two guides.  They were were really great.  They sang us a trial song.
Ah Yep..  Us Raber's are riders from way back.  We're regalr John Wayne's and Waynette's.
Let's riiide!
This is a Naxi tomb.  They are everywhere in the mountains around Lijiang.
These tombs are by the horse trail, but I went on another walk in the mountains and I saw tombs in the middle of the woods with no apparent trails around them.
Nice hair Scott.  Well.. It's one of the few pictures we have of the whole family.
At what you might call a... camp or an outpost... or some other westernie sounding name.  Western China that is!
Kelly with Jade Dragon Mountain in the background.
Our trusty steeds.
Emily, Scott, and one of the guides... ah.....  running from bandits... yeah that's it.. Mongolian...  Yeah running Mongolian bandits.
Emily and Trixy.  I think she looks like a Trixy.
Scott gossiping with the boys.
Time to head back to town.
Emily...  back at the ranch.
