On this day we walked to the Forbidden City from our hotel. We
first came to the east gate which is not used to allow the general public to enter the city. We had to walk around.

Now we have left the Forbidden city through the
back gate. I think it is the south gate. People enter from the
north and exit out the opposite side of the city.

Walking along the south side of the Forbidden
city. The city walls are surrounded by water. I guess in this
case they would be called motes! The picture really does not do the
scene justice. It was magnificant!
