This is on the street adjacent to my
apartment. I am on my way to the old block to the south. There
are blocks like this all over Ningbo. The Chinese people that we know
refer to them as villages. They remind me of Beijing's Hutongs.

Now I've turned
off an avenue and into an alley that leads through the village. |
|
|
The streets are
very noisy and as soon as I turn into the alley it becomes quite. |
|
|
The larger alleys
lead to smaller ones. |

Back out to an
avenue on one edge of the old block. |
|
|
The garbage man winds through
the narrow alleys.

Now I'm back out on an avenue again.
I thought this was an interesting picture. It's just a man in
his magazine booth. |
