Home   February 3, 2008       A visit to a village school in Quzhou, Kai Hau, China
Kelly has a good friend at Ningbo International School named Elina. Elina is also a teacher at the school. She is Chinese. One day some information came to the school with information about how to help less fortunate schools in China. Elina informed us that we need look no further than her old elementary school. At her old school the children have no books, no paper, and no pencils. They have their teacher, a black board, and some chalk. After hearing this John Turner, the principle at NBIS, and other people including Ms. Tao and Kelly and I purchased school supplies to give to Elina’s old school. It was a lot of stuff. So I volunteered to go with Elina to her village and help her move the supplies. I really wanted to see the village, and the school. We had arranged the night before that we would come to the school the next morning to deliver the school supplies. As we drove up the school children were out in front singing at the top of their lungs, "Wan ying ni, Wan ying ni". That means "Welcome you, welcome you".
