Here we are on the road to
Tiger Leaping Gorge. This was one of our first glimpses of the
Yangzi. It was about 10:00 AM. I asked the drive to pull
over to take the next three pictures. It was just a bend in
the road. |
It was cultivated like this
all along this ride. Miles and miles of meticulously terraced
fields. Not a piece of heavy equipment to be seen. |
There's our ride... and the road. We
were accompanied by a driver and a guide from Lijiang. A young
Naxi woman named Annie.
This is just
typical town along the river. |
The industry out here is
farming and taking stuff out of the ground. |
After one or two hours walk
in the gorge it was time to head off to another site. By this
time the sun was coming right through the front window of the van. This was a perfect
opportunity to shoot (photo's) out the unobstructed rear window. This is what I saw.
More terraced fields. |
Just a road side
shop. Very typical. |
Looking back at a
little town that the road passed through. |
An old Naxi woman
gathering something? Maybe those pine needles. We saw
many people gathering these needles. We're not sure what they
do with them. |
The south side of Jade snow
mountain. |
Moooooooo........ |
This is called
"First Bend". It is the first big bend (I guess) of
the Yangzi. |
Now we are heading
back to Lijiang. We have left the banks of the Yangzi. |
Hello!
Welcome back to Lijiang. |
